Census – Miami Ranked #1 For International Population Growth In 2023

Miami-Dade County experienced a remarkable surge in net international population growth in 2023, surpassing all other U.S. counties, according to the latest Census data.

The data revealed a substantial increase of nearly 40% in the number of new Miami-Dade residents from outside the United States, totaling 54,457 individuals.

This influx of international residents far exceeded that of any other county in the country.

When factoring in overall population growth, which includes domestic migration and natural changes, the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach metropolitan area claimed the tenth spot nationwide, with a net addition of 43,387 residents.

Specifically, Miami-Dade County alone welcomed approximately 14,000 net new residents, with international migration compensating for domestic out-migration.
